Men are less likely to seek medical care than women.

June is Men's Health Month and doctors at Heartland Regional Medical Center are reminding men to focus on preventative care.

The top causes of death for men are heart disease and cancer. Routine screening can help catch both illnesses earlier, improving survival rates. Routine visits with a primary care doctor can help men stay on top of these tests and help manage chronic conditions.

Mental health is also a concern. Men are less likely to seek mental health care than women, although more than 6 million men are living with depression each year.
