Arrowleaf’s client choice food pantry in Cairo is giving people a new experience to help fight food insecurity.
Since it opened January 3rd, Arrowleaf has had more than 570 people come through their client choice food pantry distributing more than 11,000 pounds of food.
The pantry provides recipe cards that match what foods they offer so clients can put together a complete meal.
CEO Sherrie Crabb says their clients enjoy the way the food pantry is operated.
“We do private shopping, meaning that there's only one client that can shop at a time privately and they take the cart, they pick what they want. We just wait at the end. No questions asked. And just having that experience is very different from what they've been used to when they try to find food for their family.”
Clients are allowed to come once a month in order to help them keep the shelves stocked.
