U-S Representative John Shimkus hopes President Donald Trump will intervene in the closure of a Saline County coal mine.
Shimkus sent a letter to President Trump this week, informing him of plans to shutter the Wildcat Hills Mine and Willow Lake Preparation Plant. The two facilities employ hundreds of people in and around Saline County.
The Collinsville Republican says business owners fear the closure will be devastating for the region. He’s asking Trump to fight for his constituents.
