After a long delay, The Resort at Walker’s Bluff is getting closer to construction.
Walker’s Bluff is one step closer to obtaining its gaming license to open a casino and resort after the Illinois Gaming Board voted to grant a determination of preliminary suitability in June.
Elite Casino Resorts teamed with Walker’s Bluff to operate the Casino and oversee construction.
Chief Operating Officer Karlyn Ollendick says the Illinois Gaming Board has many rules and requirements for granting a gaming license.
“A very thoughtful process to ensure that the applicants meet their criteria for conducting gaming, everything from those folks in the scope of the project to those folks working on the construction, the details of the construction once the Illinois Gaming Board has reviewed those steps then they will review whether or not we can begin the construction process.”
They have a fifteen-month construction schedule once they get the approval to start.
