The Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks is about two months from opening, but they’re facing some tough choices.
The Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks was supposed to open last summer, but COVID-19 caused construction to be delayed until now.
One year later the project has started, but the price of the fencing for the park has increased by $5,000 due to the pandemic.
Board President Jane Adams says board members are facing a difficult situation.
“That’s a COVID supply chain issue that’s happened and so we did not put that extra $5,000 in our budget, so we’re going to be having to make some hard choices about what we sacrifice in terms of the whole project.”
The dog park has been paid for entirely by donations.
