Talk of merging the Carbondale Park District with the City of Carbondale has been going on for several years. Kathy Renfro, the Park District's Executive Director says she recently received a proposal from City Officials, and says she is hopeful meaningful dialogue can resume.
"And so now that we are identifying common goals, and have gotten the conversation around to, what I believe was always at the root of it. What is in the best interests of the taxpayer."
