The SIU football team has climbed to number five in this week's national FCS rankings
After Saturday's one-point win over then 4th ranked Northern Iowa, the Salukis welcome 6th ranked South Dakota State to Carbondale this Saturday.
Head Coach Nick Hill says his players want to play in big games like these.
"That's what we want to do. That's what this league presents. When we recruit players, we talk about these games that you're going to play in. I've compared it to the SEC a lot. I mean you're Alabama and you're playing Florida and LSU and Georgia, Texas A&M. That's why those are on national TV and big games each week."
The Salukis and the Jackrabbits both have one loss on the season..both fell to Missouri Valley Football Conference leader North Dakota. The kickoff this Saturday is at noon.
