High School Basketball Getting Started in Southern Illinois

Images

High school basketball games are starting this week across southern Illinois.

Gyms with adequate spacing are allowed to have up to 50 fans -- mainly players' parents.
Du Quoin High School Athletic Director Derek Beard says despite the long wait for games to begin because of the pandemic...the athletes are ready to go.

"I've told people all year long our kids have stayed ready. They've gone to workouts. They've lifted in P.E. They've done a good job of staying in shape."

Since fans are limited or prohibited in some cases, many schools are providing live video feeds of their athletic events.

Schools are using various platforms to reach their fans, some are free and some require a small fee. For more information, visit your school's Facebook page or website.
