As WSIU concludes this hike, taken in November of 2016, Carrier Mills History Teacher Mark Motsinger talks in detail about the Stone Walls of Southern Illinois,.

It is estimated that these walls, many of which are found in various locations throughout the Shawnee National Forest, were made by native Americans one thousand years ago.

Also in this concluding segment, Mark explains that there is at least one American soldier who fought in the American Revolution, buried in southern Illinois.
