More deer were harvested in Illinois this year compared to 2017.
The preliminary total of 80 thousand 896 deer is up by about 800 compared to last year. In southern Illinois, Randolph County hunters harvested over 24-hundred deer and Jackson County reported over 23-hundred.
Illinois Department of Natural Resources spokesperson Ed Cross says the first weekend of firearm season was the most successful...as the weather was nicer.
