A rally this weekend in Carbondale will look at reproductive health issues

An event is being held this weekend in Carbondale to look at the effects of the Supreme Court decision regarding Roe v Wade, reproductive justice, gender equality, and its impact on southern Illinois.

The Bans off our Bodies Rally will include information from community organizations and several speakers related to the reproductive health issue.

They'll include Tim Kee with LGBTQ and Marriage rights; Jennifer Peppers with Choices -- a reproductive health clinic opening in Carbondale.

Other speakers will discuss children and families, bodily autonomy and human rights.

The League of Women’s Voters will be present for voter registration.

Organizations represented will be the Rainbow Café LGBTQ Center, Pride in Action, the Survivor Empowerment Center, and other health and wellness organizations.

The rally will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, September 17 at the Carbondale Civic Center.
