Two juveniles are accused of shooting two employees with E.T. Simonds Construction Company with an apparent air rifle.

Wednesday night at 9:14, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from employees of E.T. Simonds regarding two employees possibly shot on Dix-Irvington Road at the Interstate 57 overpass.

The first employee was the flagger and was struck in the back of the head. The second worker came to assist and was struck in the chest.

Both were taken to a local Hospital and later transferred to St. Louis University Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives identified a location where the shots originated.

On duty members of the Mt Vernon Police Department /Jefferson County Sheriff's Office High Risk Team responded with an armored vehicle to successfully remove the suspects from a residence at 920 Adams Street in Dix.

A high powered air rifle was seized with a search warrant.

The two juveniles were questioned and arrested.

They were processed and released to their guardians due to their age.
