An Illinois State Police investigation leads to a firearm related arrest in Pulaski County

An Ullin man has been arrested following a shooting incident in the Pulaski County village.

The Illinois State Police arrested 56-year-old Robert Nelson for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.

Wednesday night, the Ullin Police Department called in State Police investigators to look into a shooting which occurred on the 400 block of Kentucky Street after a 32-year-old man from Ullin was found near the roadway with a gunshot injury.

Nelson was located and detained by the Ullin Police Department and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. He was subsequently arrested by State Police.
