A former Saluki student-athlete is set to appear on the upcoming season of The Bachelorette

Nate Mitchell will compete on Season 19 of The Bachelorette.

A former Saluki basketball player will be a contestant on the upcoming of the season of The Bachelorette.

33-year-old Carrier Mills native Nate Mitchell will appear on the program.

Mitchell graduated from Southeastern Illinois College with both an Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degree. He was also a member of the men’s basketball team from 2007-2009.

After graduating, Mitchell transferred to SIU-Carbondale to play for Coach Chris Lowery’s Salukis.

At SIU-C, he completed his degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering.

This isn't the first time someone with local ties has made the cut on The Bachelorette.

Anna native Tony Harris was a contestant on the show in 2015.
