Former Saluki golfer Luke Gannon shot a 6-over par 76 Thursday in his first round at the U.S. Open Golf Tournament.
He was 1-under through his first nine holes, but 7-over on the back nine, which included two double bogeys.
Gannon is scheduled to tee off at 1:42 p.m. Friday in Round 2 of the major championship event.
During his collegiate career, Gannon helped lead the Salukis to two NCAA Regionals appearances in 2016 and 2019. He was a two-time all-conference selection.
