Capital Development Board funding helps agencies in southern Illinois build, improve, and renovate aging facilities

The Capital Development Board has announced over 46 million dollars in investments are moving forward to improve and renovate various state agency buildings in the southern half of Illinois.

The Vienna Correctional Center will get six million dollars to replace the main substation.

The Shawnee Correctional Center is in line to receive over 1.5 million dollars to replace the water heater serving the segregation and receiving housing units at the Administration Building and the water heaters in the four cell houses.

The Centralia Correctional Center will receive 3.2 million dollars to replace the fire alarm system.

The Du Quoin Work Camp will use over 585-thousand dollars to remove and replace about 14-thousand square feet of standing seam roofing and to remove and replace the gutters and downspouts.

And the Cache River State Natural Area will receive 739-thousand dollars to remove and replace about 16-thousand square feet of roofing in the Wetlands Center.
