The Edwards County Courthouse in southeastern Illinois was closed for a few hours Tuesday after a suspicious package was located outside the building.
In a written release, the Sheriff's Department reports the Sheriff and his deputies isolated the unmarked package and evacuated the courthouse.
The Illinois Secretary of State Bomb Squad was called in to investigate.
While that was going on, an identical package was found across the street at the Albion Library.
The Bomb Squad x-rayed the package and determined it contained pamphlets.
The Edwards County Sheriff's Department says deliveries made to the courthouse should be marked and done during business hours.
