Heartland Regional honors Doctors' Day by gifting to the Marion Ministerial Alliance

The Marion Ministerial Alliance received a 10-thousand dollar donation from Heartland Regional Medical Center recently, and JR Russell, the Alliance's Executive Director says the gift will help people who we may not notice.

"Your typical homeless person is actually couch-surfing from place to place, wherever they can find a place to stay. No certainty of where they're going to be tomorrow."

Since Wednesday is Doctors' Day, Heartland's President of the Medical Staff, Jeffery Deacon says they decided to direct the traditional gift, instead to the Alliance.

"Marion Ministerial Alliance has been around for many years. We've all been touched on some level by what they do. Whether it's a friend, or a family member."

The Ministerial Alliance provides temporary support for those in need, and operates a food kitchen five days a week.
