Republican candidate for Governor Richard Irvin, along with running mate Avery Bourne stopped in Marion on Wednesday. Irvin says Illinois needs to reduce crime, and have a more balanced checkbook.

"Crime is out of control, taxes and wasteful spending is out of control, corruption is out of control."

His running mate, Representative Avery Bourne says she wants to stop the outflow of people to other states.

"I've got two brothers, one's in Missouri and one's in Texas. And that's, we're seeing too many people of my generation leave the state."

Irvin is currently the mayor of Aurora, and so far faces four other opponents in the Republican primary on June 28.
