3rd Suspect Arrested in 2019 Carbondale Murder Case

A suspect wanted in a two-year-old murder case in Carbondale has been arrested on the west coast.

Carbondale Police say Orlando Sheron was arrested Tuesday in Gardena, California. He is being held in the Los Angeles County Jail awaiting extradition to Illinois.

He is one of three suspects accused in the shooting death of Keon Lavonte Cooper on November 3, 2019 in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue.

Officers previously arrested the other two suspects, Thomas Evans Jr. and Tyren Johnson.
