Two People Arrested in Aggravated Battery Incident in Carbondale

Carbondale Police

Two people have been arrested for their involvement in an incident Saturday evening in the 1100 block of East Walnut in Carbondale.

Police say officers arrested 32-year-old Tamira Smart of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for Battery and 48-year-old Quincy Brown of Cairo, for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with no valid FOID.

Brown was treated for a minor injury sustained during the battery incident with Smart.

Smart was released pending a court appearance while Brown was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
