Smaller municipalities in Illinois are now eligible to receive funds from the American Rescue Plan.
These funds may be used to cover revenue losses, the costs of responding to the COVID-19 public health emergency, and invest in certain infrastructure projects.
These grants are only available to municipalities considered Non Entitlement Units with less than 50-thousand population. In Illinois, this includes over 12-hundred cities, towns and villages.
