SIU School of Medicine Graduation Saturday
Commencement exercises at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield will be held this weekend.
The featured speaker will be Dr. Fitzhugh Mullan, the Murdock head professor of medicine and health policy at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Mullan's research and policy work focuses on U.S. and international health workforce issues, including medical and nursing education. The class chair, Alison Marie Saulog from Salem, will speak on behalf of the graduates. The Distinguished Alumnus Award will go to Dr. Lance Rodewald with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The commencement ceremony starts at noon Saturday in the Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois Springfield.
