Williamson County Regional Airport

Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois has secured a substantial amount of FAA funding thanks to a local business.

The Williamson County facility and others like it are required to transport at least 10-thousand passengers each year to be eligible for a million dollars in federal funding.


Two southern Illinois facilities are among the top airports in the state according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

IDOT recognized six airports with 2017 Airport of the Year awards.

Illinois U.S. Senator Dick Durbin met Friday with southern Illinois leaders to talk about the impact of proposed federal cuts to transportation.
