Heavy Rain Could Lead to Flooding

The National Weather Service in Paducah says Southern Illinois will get a lot of rain this week.

Meteorologist Kevin Smith says the area can expect 3.5 to 4.5 inches through Saturday.

Governor Bruce Rauner has declared a “harvest emergency” across Illinois.

The designation means trucks carrying grain can exceed weight limits by 10 percent.


Nearly 40 American Red Cross workers from central and southern Illinois have been deployed to Texas to help the thousands of people whose lives have been devastated by Tropical Storm Harvey.

Some parts of the Quad-State could see more than two inches of rain over the next couple of days, as what's left of Hurricane Patricia moves across the region.
