This Saturday, April 27th, WSIU and the Carbondale Public Library invite you to this month's Community Cinema film, The Island President. 

The film tells the story of the effects of global warming on the ever-rising sea levels for the island country of Maldives, in the South Pacific. The 2011 documentary chronicles the efforts of the former President of Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, to tackle climate change.

WSIU Radio's Jennifer Fuller talks with SIU Sports Sociologist Bobbi Knapp and Assistant Softball Coach Jen Sewell about the upcoming screening of "Strong!" and the discussion planned along with it. They discuss gender issues, self confidence, social identities and more.
