WSIU-TV Scheduled Off the Air on Tuesday, October 9
Generator Installation to Interrupt Broadcasts for Several Hours
Carbondale, Ill. -- WSIU-TV 8 and WUSI-TV 16, the public television stations of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, are scheduled to be off the air on Tuesday, October 9 from 9am-12pm while a technical crew works works to complete the installation of the stations’ new generator back-up system.
The new system will power WSIU’s TV Master Control and, in concert with new generators already installed at the Tamaroa and Olney transmitter sites, will allow the stations to remain on the air for up to three days after a power outtage.
WSIU regrets the inconvenience this temporary service interruption will cause our viewers. Check wsiu.org for service updates or call (618) 453-4343.
