WSIU to Carry Gov. Rauner's Budget Address Live at Noon

WSIU to Carry Gov. Rauner's Budget Address Today, Speech Will Air Live at Noon on WSIU Radio & WSIU-TV

Carbondale, Ill. -- WSIU Radio and WSIU-TV, the public media stations of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, will broadcast Illinois GovernorBruce Rauner’s first annual Budget Address to the Illinois General Assembly live at noon today, February 18, on WSIU Radio 91.9 FM, 91.9 HD, 90.3 FM & 88.9 FM and WSIU-TV 8.1, WUSI-TV 16.1. WSIU Radio also will carry the speech live online at wsiu.org. A link to the live broadcast is posted on WSIU’s homepage. The program is expected to run approximately one hour.

WSIU-TV will repeat the broadcast tonight at 10pm on it’s main channel. Additional repeats will air on WSIU-TV's WORLD Channels -- WSIU-TV 8.2 and WUSI-TV 16.2 -- on Thursday, February 19 at 5pm and Friday, February 20 at noon.

The broadcast will be presented as part of the statewide public television series Illinois Lawmakers. Series host and statehouse correspondent Jak Tichenor will anchor the program, which will include analysis of the Governor's remarks by veteran journalists, as well as in-depth interviews with legislative leaders of both parties.
