Winter Weather Moves Back In

Weather

Winter Weather will spread across the region Wednesday, making travel difficult in some areas. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of our region, a Winter Storm WARNING for other parts, and a Blizzard Warning for the far northern and eastern portions of the area.

Forecasters say rain will change over to snow through the morning hours, with 3-6 inches of snow expected along and northwest of a line from Cape Girardeau, MO to Mt. Vernon, IL.

Areas south and east of that line can expect 1-4 inches of snow.

Meanwhile, in the northern and eastern portions of the region, a Blizzard Warning is in effect into Wednesday evening. Forecast models say 6-9 inches of snow could fall, and high winds will make travel treacherous.

Some schools across the region are closing ahead of the snow. Here is our School Closure List.
