The manager of the Williamson County Regional Airport is joining a group of airport executives to help craft a federal policy for airports across the country.
Doug Kimmel will take part in the FAA Reauthorization Task Force.
In advance of next year's congressional consideration of the FAA reauthorization legislation, members will formulate a comprehensive policy proposal to address issues such as financing, air service and regulatory relief.
Kimmel says they will also look to refine the Airport Improvement Program fund, which deals with such things the design and construction of a new terminal at the Williamson County Airport.
He says projects in this fund often take a long time to complete.
Kimmel says the main goal of the task force is to help the commission prioritize issues, given limited federal funds.
