University of Illinois President Michael Hogan has resigned after less than two years on the job.Board of Trustees chairman Christopher Kennedy announced Hogan's resignation Thursday in a mass email to students and university employees. Kennedy said Hogan would stay on until July when longtime administrator Bob Easter will take over as interim president.
Hogan has been under pressure from faculty for months over what some considered his dictatorial managerial style and moves they feared would cut into autonomy on the school's three campuses. Hogan was hired in may 2010 from the University of Connecticut. He replaced B. Joseph White after White resigned during an admissions scandal.
