Two Southern Illinois Men Help Make PGA Championship a Success

Aug 13, 2018

A southern Illinois man had one of the best views of Tiger Woods' electrifying performance Sunday at the PGA Championship in St. Louis.

Jesse Barge is the PGA Professional and Director of Golf Operations at Kokopelli Golf Club in Marion. He served as the rules official for the pairing of Woods and Gary Woodland Sunday in the fourth round of golf's final major tournament. Barge walked the course with the two players.

There was another southern Illinois connection to the event at Bellerive Country Club. The club's PGA Director of Golf is Carbondale native and former SIU golfer Mike Tucker.

Brooks Koepka won the event. Woods finished second.
