Three People Injured in Randolph County Accident

Illinois state police report a 22-year old Perry County woman received major injuries following an accident Friday morning in Randolph County.

Troopers say Caitlin Hess of Pinckneyville was driving her Ford Edge north on County Line Road and apparently failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Illinois Route-154.  Police say Hess struck a west bound Chevrolet pickup truck on Rt-154.  Both vehicles suffered major damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Hess was taken to a local hospital. The occupants of the pickup also received major injuries.  State Police say both are from Steeleville.  A 45-year old male was taken to a local hospital for treatment while a 35-year old female was airlifted to a regional hospital.

The accident occurred about 10:30 Friday morning. Police issued Hess a citation for disobeying a stop sign.
