Investigators say police were called again shortly after 4:00am Saturday, after someone saw a man - possibly with a handgun - in a neighbor's yard, and then heard several gunshots.
When local police arrived, they heard another gunshot as they tried to find the suspect. Illinois State Police were called at around 6:15am to help with the search.
Troopers say as they set up a perimeter around the area where they believed the suspect was hiding, another shot was heard. Around 9:20am, a trooper came upon the suspect - who was armed - and shots were fired. The suspect was killed in the altercation.
Investigators are not releasing the name of the suspect or the trooper involved. They say more information is still being gathered in the case.
