State Police Investigate Drowning Death

Illinois State Police are investigating the death of an Army soldier found drowned in his submerged car near a boat ramp at a southeastern Illinois lake.State police say they found no signs of foul play in the death of 21-year-old Timothy Clark, whose body was found Monday by a fisherman in Lake Glendale in Pope County. Investigators say initial autopsy results reveal a preliminary cause of death to be drowning. Drug-and-alcohol screenings of Clark's blood are pending.

State police say Clark was stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky.
