SIU's Father Brown Remembers Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Logo

Fifty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was shot and killed in Memphis, Tennessee.

As a way to remember King's legacy and impact, Father Joseph Brown of SIU's Africana Studies department spoke about King and says there's still work to be done.

"Male and female, black and white. People have been saying, out of whatever conviction they carry, if they don't change, we are doomed to parish."

Father Brown says in some ways we have taken a step backwards since King's assassination in terms of equality.
