SIU Carbondale campus building evacuated earlier this morning have been re-opened as of 1:00 pm. A gas line break on the SIUC Campus near Faner Hall forced the evacuation of Allyn, Faner, and Parkinson Halls, along with Shryock Auditorium.
People were sent to the Student Center for the time being as crews work to fix the problem.
As of 11:00am, the Chancellor's Office said employees in the affected buildings should check with their supervisors to see when they should report to work. A partial administrative closure day has been put into effect for that area through 1:00 pm.
