SIU Carbondale’s School of Architecture will offer free residential design services to families who lost their homes in last week’s tornado in Harrisburg. The teams of students and faculty will be in Harrisburg to consult with homeowners beginning on Saturday and running through March 17th.  The teams will visit home sites, take pictures, and collect information including location of utilities, property lines, trees, driveways, and other data.  Architecture professor Jon Davey says the designs will utilize sustainable concepts and solutions.  Davey says the goal is to offer a valuable service to families at this early stage of the community's recovery.

Several SIU-C students and faculty have been volunteering their time to help with storm clean-up and provide other assistance to those in need in Saline and Gallatin Counties.
