Quentin Tarantino visits the American west in his latest big-screen production The Hateful Eight.  The movie, set shortly after the Civil War,  tells the story of eight strangers brought together by happenstance during a blizzard.

In this special edition of SIU Reviews, film critics Simone Becque and Jason Hedrick take different perspectives on Tarantino's eight film.

Jason Hedrick is a doctoral student specializing in Performance Studies in the Department of Communications at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.   He is also Technical Director for SIU's Marion Kleinau Theatre.
