SIU-C Names Interim Provost

Southern Illinois University Carbondale has named an interim Provost.

In a written statement released Friday morning, Interim Chancellor Paul Sarvela announced that Graduate School interim Dean Susan Ford will assume the duties of Provost beginning on Monday.  Sarvela says he asked Ford to take on the new role after consulting with what he calls "key" constituency groups.

SIUC interim Vice Chancellor for Research Jim Garvey will take over additional responsibilities for the graduate school.

SIU-C interim Vice Chancellor for Research Jim Garvey will take over additional responsibilities for the graduate school as part of Ford's move to the Provost's office. Both appointments are subject to Board of Trustees approval in September.
