Saluki Athletics and the Carbondale Police Department are extending their Coats for Kids collection dates to include two additional SIU men's basketball games.
You can bring coats for boys and girls ages one through eight to the game against San Jose State tomorrow at 3 p.m. and the December 9th game against Southeast Missouri State at 7 p.m.
Coats for Kids donations are also accepted at the Carbondale Police Department, on campus at the SIUC Department of Public Safety, and the athletics office in Lingle Hall.
The coats donated will help the children served by the Carbondale Police Department Christmas Store, which provides toys and gifts at reduced costs to the families of 100 children from under-privileged families in Carbondale that are not receiving things from other agencies. Their goal is to provide children with a warm coat as the winter months approach.
