SIU Associate Professor Arrested

An Associate Professor at SIU Carbondale was arrested last week after an altercation with a student.

According to the SIU Police crime log, 54-year old Alan Weston was arrested for battery and posted a $160 bond.

Investigators say the 22-year old student involved in the incident did not require medical treatment. It happened outside room E102 of the Engineering Building.

Weston is an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes.
