SIU and SEMO to Play Football in Busch Stadium

Busch Stadium isn’t only for Cardinals baseball games anymore. The stadium will house concerts, a soccer game and for the first time ever, an NCAA football game.

It was formally announced Monday that Southeast Missouri State University will take on Southern Illinois University in the stadium on September 21st at 1:00 pm.

Bill DeWitt the third, President of the Cardinals, says it’s great to showcase the venue.. but is a lot of work: “But having big concerts here, and other types of sports really stretches the limits of our staff and I want to thank them in advance.”

The field will encompass mostly the outfield and will leave the pitcher’s mound intact as the Cardinals will have a home game to play just two days after the football game.  Tickets will go on sale in June.
