SIU Alerts Community of Sexual Assault Report

SIU Police say three students have been temporarily suspended from the university, after a report of a sexual assault over the weekend.

In a release to the campus late Sunday, the Department of Public Safety says it is investigating a report of sexual assault that happened Sunday in Neely Hall.

The three suspects are described as black males, one 5'9" and 150 pounds, one 5'4" and 118 pounds, and one 5'10" - 210 pounds.

All three are said to be SIU students, and all are on what's called "interim separation" while the investigation continues.

The report says the victim and the suspects are acquaintances. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Department of Public Safety at 453-3771.
