Southern Illinois Congressman John Shimkus will visit the Marion VA Hospital Monday afternoon.
This will be the Collinsville republican's first visit to Marion since the scheduling scandal broke.
A recent audit revealed over 57,000 veterans waited for appointments for more than 90 days at VA facilities across the country. The Marion facility was one of those flagged in the report.
Shimkus is scheduled to visit with staff and patients without VA administrators present.
Democratic 12th district Congressman Bill Enyart conducted a similar visit at the Marion VA earlier this month.
