SEMO Speakers Series Announced

Southeast Missouri State University is out with it's lineup for the 2012–2013 University Speakers Series.

SEMO officials made the announcement Friday. Two of the most recognizable names in this year's series include retired US General Colin Powell, and former Cardinals manager Tony La Russa. This is the fifth year of the Speaker Series. Southeast President Ken Dobbins says he believes this is the best round of speakers yet: "Having General Powell here we are going to hear a lot about diplomatic issues and some of the things he has been involved with that has changed the course of history not only in the U–S , but in the world, and for students and others to have the ability to interact somebody with that stature, is really quite important to us."

Other speakers in the series include: Recording artist John Legend, Olympic world figure skater Michelle Kwan, and Second City Improv group, and TV host Jeff Corwin. All events are open to the public.
