Rural Healthcare Provider Receives Grant to Fight Colon Caner

While nationwide death rates from colon cancer are declining, the 16 southernmost Illinois counties are experiencing flat or even higher rates of death from colon cancer.  At  a recent meeting in Ullin of the Southern Seven Community Health Coalition, Metropolis-based Hopelight Foundation, presented a check to the Community Health and Emergency Services Health Provider, to enable C.H.E.S.I. to purchase new test kits for early detection of colon cancer.
