Some schools and businesses are shutting down after a major water main break at the Rend Lake Conservancy District. CLOSURES Include:
Carterville Unit 5 - Dismissing at 11:15am Thursday, May 17
Thursday's School Board meeting is going on as planned, but all Spring Sing performances are cancelled.
Marion Unit 2 - Dismissing at 2:00pm Thursday, May 17
SIH Cancer Institute (Carterville) - Closed
Staff is working with patients to redirect appointments to other facilities, or reschedule. The Cancer Institute will be open Saturday, May 19, to accommodate missed appointments.
John A Logan College - Closed
Closure includes West Frankfort and DuQuoin Extension Centers, as well as the Community Health Education Complex.
Mount Vernon City Schools District 80 will NOT have an afterschool program on Thursday, May 17th. The Casey Middle School Spring Concert is rescheduled for Tuesday, May 22nd at 6:30 p.m.
Due to the Water shortage, the Mt. Vernon Police Department Fundraiser at McAlister's Deli on May 17th is cancelled.
