Region Experiencing a Dry Spring

No matter where you are in Illinois, one thing is the same. It's dry!

Mike Timlin is a regional climatologist with the Midwest Region Climate Center. He says the southern part of the state is the driest but Central Illinois is quickly catching up. Timlin says with the exception of a few pockets across the state, Illinois has seen little precipitation so far this spring. Timlin says the unseasonably warm weather and early crops has increased evaporation, making things even drier than normal.  Rain is in the forecast Monday for most of central and southern Illinois and southeast Missouri.
