Rauner Visits Marion To Tout The Bicentennial Pepsi Logo.

Several southern Illinois lawmakers, as well as the acting mayor of Marion and the  mayors of Carbondale, and Herrin joined Governor Rauner on Friday afternoon, December 15th, 2017  at Pepsi MidAmerica to inaugurate the special Pepsi can featuring the state's bicentennial logo.  The Governor said there will be five million cans produced in celebration of the state's upcoming 200th birthday.  Tonya Lamia,  with the Illinois Bicentennial says the logo was designed by a graphic artist based in Schaumburg Illinois.  She says he did the work pro bono, to help celebrate the birthday.  These special cans with the bicentennial logo have been in stores since December 3rd of this year, which was the state's 199th birthday.
